Belgium is a country of Burgundians. A good steak, stew with fries, chicory with ham from the oven, the average Belgian gets it. Although our country is quite small, it has a varied cuisine. Belgian cuisine is inspired by French cuisine, but also has similarities with Dutch cuisine.

Eating out is also more often a social event in Belgium. On average, Belgians eat out quite often. This does not always have to be a complete meal, but can also be a nice sandwich, a delicious waffle or just coffee and cake or a cookie. Belgium traditionally serves three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Belgians sit together at a richly laid table.
